New York pastry shop Dominique Ansel Bakery is offering its much-talked-about soft serve ice cream, popular at its New York store, on the first floor of DOMINIQUE ANSEL BAKERY TOKYO in Omotesando, Tokyo, for a limited summer sale until September 30th. This limited-time offering is the popular soft serve ice cream that is only sold on weekends at the New York store and always draws a line. Instead of a cone, it uses homemade langue de chat cookies rolled into a crepe, and DOMINIQUE ANSEL BAKERY TOKYO offers two Japan-exclusive flavors. The bread-flavored "Sourdough Bread Soft Serve" (728 yen) is made by transferring the mellow aroma of roasted and crushed sourdough bread, which has a unique sour taste, into milk. It's topped with a buttery, crunchy bread sprinkle called "crumb," and apricot compote. Meanwhile, the caramel-flavored soft serve ice cream, "Caramel 'HIBIKI' Soft Serve" (728 yen), is smooth and creamy. Its unique recipe maximizes the caramel flavor, and it's topped with a jelly made with fruity whiskey, "Hibiki." Also, on the second floor of "DOMINIQUE ANSEL BAKERY TOKYO," "PETIT PARK Cafe" has opened, where you can enjoy a New York-style brunch in a space inspired by the parks of New York and Paris. The menu includes egg dishes like the "Perfect Egg Sandwich" (800 yen), a thick steamed egg sandwiched between homemade brioche; toasts like "Soho" (1,200 yen), a whole avocado toast; and desserts like the "Baked Alaska" (1,100 yen), ice cream and sponge cake wrapped in a generous amount of meringue and toasted over a burner. As part of the afternoon menu starting at 12pm, the "Central Park Basket" (4,800 yen for two), inspired by a picnic in Central Park, will also be available. The box includes lobster rolls, Old Bay fries, watermelon gazpacho, as well as apple cider doughnuts, chocolate brownies, and seasonal fruit smoothies.
