To celebrate this year's apple harvest, the "Uneven Apple Festival" will be held at Gallery VOILLD in Nakameguro, Tokyo, from November 6th to 8th, bringing together artists, brands, and bakeries. The event is organized by social art team M Co., which cultivates and promotes original apples in collaboration with Suzuki Farm, an apple farm in Shimoina District, Nagano Prefecture, and Pan Labo, a bread research institute run by Hiroaki Ikeda, who launched the "Apple of Hope Project" as a recovery effort following the Great East Japan Earthquake and is involved in activities such as the "Apple Tree Ownership System" and apple cherry blossom bus tours from Tokyo. Edible apple art by artists such as STOMACHACHE., Tonda Hayashi Ran, and Abe Kosei will be on sale, along with apple-themed merchandise by artists and fashion brands such as acco, Cikolata, and magma. Food essayist Hirano Sakiko will also be appearing with an apple bread she herself created, baked by Tachikawa bakery Symbol Pan. Other bakeries including nukumuku (only on the 6th), Parlor Ekoda (only on the 7th), and Boulangerie Django (only on the 8th) will also be setting up pop-up shops. Also, from 12:00 to 1:30 PM on November 8th, there will be a talk show about apples featuring Ikeda Hiroaki, Hirano Sakiko, and Symbol Pan's Symbol Yuka. Participants will also receive a free copy of Hirano Sakiko's Apple Bread. The participation fee is 2,300 yen. The opening night will also feature a live performance by Taiwanese exotic pop band Anmin.
