The Futako Tamagawa Rise Shopping Center Terrace Market, a commercial facility that opened in April this year and has been garnering attention, has announced that the first Japanese store of Mallorca, a gourmet shop patronized by the Spanish royal family, will be relaunching its popular Ensaymada, a pastry that sold out on the first day of release and was subsequently discontinued.
Ensaymada, a traditional sweet bread from the Spanish island of Mallorca, is made with pork lard and is characterized by a crispy exterior and fluffy interior. It is the store's signature dish, and on the opening day of the first Japanese store, all six flavors were offered, making it a huge hit, with all six flavors selling out.
After selling out on the first day, sales of all flavors other than the plain flavor (210 yen) were suspended, but three new flavors will be revived: "Naranja" (260 yen), with orange peel on top of a sweet dough; "Tortel" (260 yen), which contains Spanish Marcona almond paste; and "Cacao" (280 yen), which uses plenty of chocolate both inside and outside the dough.
The expected baking times have also been announced. Although this may vary depending on the day, they will always have three to four flavors available at three times: 8:00, 12:00, and 16:00.
