Starting March 13, 2021, Conrad Tokyo will be hosting the Sakura Strawberry Afternoon Tea at its bar and lounge, TwentyEight. It features an abundance of Japanese strawberries and a touch of springtime cherry blossoms.
Sakura Strawberry Afternoon Tea
The afternoon tea, featuring a seasonal theme centered around pink and the red of strawberries, features a lineup of sweets and savory dishes to celebrate spring. It is designed to be gorgeous and stylish, yet evoke the gentle breeze of spring. All items incorporate elements of fresh Japanese strawberries or cherry blossoms, resulting in photogenic and original creations.
Five sweet treats include "Pistachio Ganache and Sakura Macaron" decorated with macarons printed with a lovely cherry blossom pattern, "Strawberry Parfait" enjoying gently sweet vanilla panna cotta with strawberry jelly, strawberry jam, and raspberry cream, and "Sakura Cake" made of almond sponge cake soaked in cherry blossom syrup and sandwiched with fragrant butter cream of cherry mochi. Three savory dishes include "Bread Gratin with Sakura Mornay Sauce," a cube-shaped bread filled with a rich butter and cheese sauce accented with cherry blossom flavor, and "Sakura Mousse and Rillette Tart," filled into small tarts. Enjoy plain and mugwort scones served with clotted cream and strawberry jam.

Pistachio ganache is piped onto a chocolate sable and decorated with strawberries and pretty cherry blossom-patterned macaroons.
Cherry Blossom Cake
A thin sponge cake containing almonds is soaked in cherry blossom syrup and sandwiched between buttercream that has the scent of sakura mochi.
Strawberry Tart
A strawberry ganache is placed inside the strawberry tart and the surface is coated in pink. It is topped with strawberries that resemble cherry blossom petals.
Bread Gratin with Sakura Mornay Sauce
Mornay sauce, which is rich in the flavor of butter and cheese and accented with the flavor of cherry blossoms, is placed in small cube-shaped bread and baked.
Sakura Shrimp and Spring Vegetable Salad
A salad of seasonal cherry shrimp and vibrant green spring vegetables. Enjoy with white fish brightly colored with beets and potato brandade.
