British organic skincare brand Neal's Yard Remedies will hold its autumn harvest festival, "Whole Food Market," at Green Square in Jingumae, Tokyo (5-1-17 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) from 11:00 to 17:00 on November 3rd.
The event will bring together producers from the company's restaurant, "BROWN RICE," who will offer special sales of organic ingredients and seasonings. Visitors can directly purchase premium products used in top restaurants, such as mirin and sake, while listening to the makers' thoughts.
The "Homemade Miso" (soybean paste) sold by weight, which is also used on the restaurant's menu, is so popular that it sells out by mid-morning every year. This year, they are also planning a "Homemade Miso Making Experience" (90 minutes/3,500 yen) where you can try your hand at making miso. Brown Rice's original products, "Makanai Miso" and "Ginger Syrup," will also be available, along with limited-time menu items like tofu cutlet curry and lunch plates. Aromatherapy-related products are also available at a 10% discount. The shop also offers aromatherapy and herb classes taught by instructors from its attached school, with walk-ins welcome. The free "Frankincense Experience" course and "Hand Treatment" and "All-You-Can-Pack Bath Salts" courses are available for just ¥500. Reservations are also being accepted for the "Coconut Oil Beauty" course (60 minutes/¥1,080), which introduces the benefits of coconut oil, popular among celebrities. The event will be held on November 3rd, the 13th anniversary of the establishment of "Aroma Day" by the Japan Aroma Environment Association, a public interest incorporated association. November 3rd, which corresponds to Culture Day, was designated as "Aroma Day" to express gratitude and celebration for aromatherapy, a "culture of fragrance" born and bred in Europe. The event will be supported by the Ministry of the Environment and embassies of various countries, including the UK and France, and various events such as talk events and fairs are planned.
