New Neal's Yard restaurant opens. Enjoy healthy brown rice vegetarian dishes with traditional Japanese cuisine.

Sep 5, 2014

On September 5th, organic skincare brand Neal's Yard Remedies opened a restaurant called "BROWN RICE by NEAL'S YARD REMEDIES" (5-1-8 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) in Omotesando, Tokyo. Founded in 1989 in Motoazabu as a bakery and bakery using natural ingredients, Brown Rice became a subsidiary of Neal's Yard Remedies and operated as a cafe in Omotesando in 2003. Now, the restaurant has been renovated into a Japanese restaurant. Guests can enjoy "healthy brown rice vegetarian meals" using premium domestic ingredients, including seasonal vegetables. At the press preview held on the 4th, healthy dishes such as "brown rice inari wrapped in bamboo leaves," "Kyoho grape and muscat tofu with white tomato sauce," and "fried dried carrots and avocado with tatsuta-age" were served. The interior, designed by Shinichiro Ogata, founder of SIMPLICITY, reflects Brown Rice's commitment to its ingredients. Traditional Japanese craftsmanship is incorporated into the interior, including a copper sink crafted using hammering techniques from the Hokuriku region and plasterwork. The tableware, including Kutani ware small plates and tin sake cups and sake cups, was personally purchased by the staff in the region. The restaurant offers not only the pleasure of tasting the food, but also the joy of viewing the presentation. Kenji Kajiwara, CEO of Neal's Yard Remedies, commented, "In a rich space that evokes Japanese tradition, we hope to propose a lifestyle of 'living carefully,' something that Japanese people have almost forgotten." Romy Fraser, founder of Neal's Yard Remedies, also visited Japan for the first time in seven years and commented, "Our vision is firmly rooted in Japan. We hope this restaurant will become a place of relaxation where people can make new discoveries about health."
