Street sportswear brand adidas Originals is launching a new global campaign for 2013 with the theme "Let's unite all originals and show off our unique style."
The Japanese version of the campaign features the rock band the Beatmoss, formed by hip-hop artist ILMARI, model and singer Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, and Kishidan, led by Ayakoji Sho. They have created three songs based on the classic adidas Originals sneaker "SS," for which they provided design direction. In the live stage movie released on the 21st, The Beatmoss performs their new song "SUPER STAR," which combines live painting by ink painter Tsuchiya Shukou, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu performs their new song "UNITE UNITE" on a fantastical light stage created by the art group Mirror Ballers, and Kishidan performs "SUPER STAR" accompanied by dancing from Pole Dance Tokyo, led by pole dancer Lu. The movie will be released sequentially on the Adidas Originals official website and blog, as well as at Adidas directly managed stores and ABC Mart nationwide. On the 23rd, a limited edition live stage movie will be screened on outdoor screens in Shibuya, such as 109 Forum Vision. On the global campaign site, original content by artists active in a wide range of genres, including filmmakers, digital artists, rappers, and designers, can be viewed through the "adidas collider" application available on the site. To commemorate the announcement of the campaign, a concept movie created in collaboration with French DJ A-Trak and director and graphic designer SoMe has been released.
