Jan 19, 2021
Bel Amer, which aims to create chocolate that suits Japan, has launched "Bel Amer Kyoto Bettei" in Kyoto, and new chocolates will be added to its lineup. We offer delicately crafted chocolates, including "Mizuho no Shizuku Premium," made with the utmost care for ingredients and chocolate, the new "Petit Chocolat" in a cute tin, and the smooth, melt-in-your-mouth "Chocolate Stick."

"Bel Amer Kyoto Bettei" is another expression of "Bel Amer," the Japanese chocolate specialty store. By focusing on Kyoto, a city brimming with tradition and internationality, and Japanese ingredients centered around Kyoto, we are showcasing new possibilities for Japanese chocolate.

In addition to "Mizuho no Shizuku," BEL AMER Kyoto Bettei's signature chocolate, a masu-shaped chocolate filled with jelly made with Japanese ingredients, the lineup will include "Mizuho no Shizuku Premium," a ganache-style chocolate made with jelly made from carefully selected ingredients. This collection is packed with the charms of Kyoto, including the new "Petit Chocolat," which captures the charm of Kyoto in a cute, palm-sized tin, and 16 gorgeous "stick chocolat" varieties to choose from.

BEL AMER Kyoto Bettei chocolates are also available at our official online shop.

“Mizuho no Shizuku Premium”, a special chocolate filled with jelly made from carefully selected Japanese ingredients.

In addition to Bel Amer Kyoto Bettei's signature chocolate, “Mizuho no Shizuku”, “Mizuho no Shizuku Premium”, which is made with the utmost care for the ingredients and the flavor of the chocolate, will be added to the lineup for a limited time.

This luxurious chocolate is made by pouring a smooth ganache into a chocolate shaped like a masu (Japanese wooden box) and then pouring a jelly made with carefully selected domestic ingredients into it. Open the small drawers containing each chocolate and enjoy the marriage of selected ingredients and chocolate.

"Toyobai Junmai Ginjo"
Toyosakai Junmai Ginjo Toyosakai Rice 55, made from Toyosakai rice by Miura Sake Brewery in Aomori Prefecture, is paired with a milk chocolate ganache. The gentle, full-bodied flavor of the sake blends with the soft taste of milk chocolate.

"Wazuka Town Matcha"
A jelly made from matcha from Wazuka Town, a famous producer of Uji matcha, is poured into white chocolate ganache and bitter chocolate. The mellow taste of matcha poured into bite-sized chocolates fully embodies the charm of Kyoto.

"Sato Nishiki"
"Sato Nishiki" cherries from Yamagata Prefecture are made into a jelly and poured into ruby chocolate, which is characterized by its natural pink hue and refreshing acidity. A ruby chocolate ganache is hidden inside, creating a marriage of the Sato Nishiki cherries, which have a perfect balance of sweet and tart, with the ruby chocolate.

"Reizan Junmai Ginjo"
"Reizan Junmai Ginjo" from Yamamura Sake Brewery in Kumamoto Prefecture, is made using high-quality natural water and in an environment that allows for just the right amount of aging, resulting in a mild and refreshing flavor. Paired with milk chocolate ganache and bitter chocolate, this chocolate offers both a mild texture and a firm contour.

Bel Amer Kyoto Bettei

At Bel Amer Kyoto Bettei, we are meticulous not only about our concept and items, but also about the design of our store. Our Sanjo store was created by purchasing and fully renovating an old townhouse, with the aim of creating a chocolate shop where you can experience the essence of Kyoto.

Once you step through the noren curtain, you'll be transported to a world of chocolate. You can see chocolates and sweets lined up in the showcases and on the wooden shelves. If you climb the stairs to the second floor, you'll be at the "Chocolat Bar" overlooking Sanjo Street, where you can enjoy the pairing of chocolate and drinks, as well as authentic chocolate desserts (plated desserts) that change with the seasons.
