[Summary of Brazil's World Cup Cleats] Nike's innovative 4th model. Worn by Neymar, Okubo, and others.

Jun 12, 2014

The 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil is about to begin. This year, Nike has unveiled four new performance footwear models. Nike Football Design Director Denis Dekovic commented, "Like 1998, when Ronaldo wore the Mercurial R9, this year will be remembered as the year Nike revolutionized cleats. It wasn't just about color, but also about bold ideas and innovation." The Hypervenom, unveiled in Rio de Janeiro in May 2013, was designed for attacking players. Supported by Brazil's Neymar and England's Wayne Rooney and Daniel Sturridge, the Hypervenom Phantom will be worn by Yoshito Okubo, Yuya Osako, and Yoichiro Kakitani. The Tiempo V combines a classic design with the latest 21st-century technology. Masahiko Inoha and Masato Morishige will wear the Tiempo Legend V. The Magista features a high-cut silhouette with a design focused on improved fit, touch, and traction. Hotaru Yamaguchi will wear the Magista Obra. The Mercurial Superfly, designed for speed with Nike Flyknit's proprietary manufacturing technology, was unveiled in Madrid by Cristiano Ronaldo in May. Yuto Nagatomo will wear it. The Hypervenom and Mercurial come in vibrant red and gold, while the Tiempo and Magista come in neon yellow and gold. The Magista is available now, and the Mercurial, Hypervenom, and Tiempo will be released on June 13th.
