
ITOCHU Corporation has acquired exclusive import and sales rights for French fashion brand Cacharel's women's clothing and accessories in the Japanese market. Sales will begin in the fall/winter 2015 season through group company Coronet.
Cacharel was founded in 1958 by Jean Bousquet, a native of Nîmes, France. Since its founding, the company's corporate philosophy has been "to provide creative yet affordable products." Currently, the brand offers apparel for women, men, and children, as well as fragrances and eyewear. This year, the brand launched a section in the Paris department store Printemps, and plans to open a flagship store there in 2015.
In Japan, targeting sophisticated women in their 20s to 40s, the brand plans to open shop-in-shops in department stores in addition to distribution in leading select shops and specialty stores nationwide. It aims to achieve retail sales of 1.2 billion yen within three years.
The price range for main items is 75,000 to 88,000 yen for coats and jackets, 43,000 to 88,000 yen for dresses, 25,000 to 69,000 yen for shirts, 24,000 to 53,000 yen for pants and skirts, and 28,000 to 49,000 yen for knitwear.
