Finnish fashion brand Ivana Helsinki has announced its Spring/Summer 2015 women's collection in collaboration with Moomin. The items feature original visuals and patterns created by sister designers Paola Pirjo based on Tove Jansson's original drawings. The brand's signature melancholy and pure designs are combined with the world of Moomin, a character born in the same hometown. The collection's standout pieces feature Moomin-patterned lace and sequin fabrics, specially created for this collection. The meticulous attention to detail, such as a lace dress featuring the silhouette of Moomin holding a butterfly net, and a tunic featuring multiple colorful embroideries that tell a story throughout the garment, demonstrates the brand's respect for Tove and her work. Knitwear and T-shirts featuring Moomin Valley characters and scenery, including Snufkin and Hattifatteners, are also available. Paola, who is also a graphic designer, has created playful prints that fans of the original work will not want to miss.
The collaborative collection with Moomin will continue to be released in parallel with the in-line collection. The approximately 60 items produced this time will be sold sequentially in department stores and select shops around the world that carry Ivana Helsinki.
