Sushi Kappo Kaishu opens in Gaienmae, a new dining spot in Aoyama

Nov 27, 2014

On November 21, Unimat Precious, a member of the Unimat Group, opened a new Japanese restaurant, "Sushi Kappo Kaishu" (1F, Unimat Aoyama Building, 2-12-14 Minami-Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo). Hours are from 5:30 PM to 11 PM. The spacious 205-square-meter restaurant offers a modern and relaxing atmosphere while maintaining a traditional Japanese atmosphere. With seating for 101, including private rooms and terrace seating, the restaurant is ideal for a variety of occasions. The restaurant was originally the company's office. Executive chef Mitsuro Harada serves a wide range of dishes, from a la carte kaiseki (traditional Japanese sushi) to the "Sushi & Kaiseki" course (¥8,800) featuring seasonal nigiri sushi, and the "Creative Kaiseki" course (¥12,000) showcasing the chef's craftsmanship. The menu includes sake, hand-selected by Harada himself. Harada has previously served as head chef at numerous hotels and restaurants, including Akazawa Geihinkan and AGORA Fukuoka Yamano Hotel & Spa. The restaurant has also appeared on numerous television programs, including NHK's "Minna no Kyo no Ryori" (Everyone's Today's Cooking) and "Iron Chef."

Although it has only been open for about a week, some customers have been enjoying a meal at the restaurant before heading home for a drink at the restaurant and bar with pool on the building's rooftop, "THIRTY SIX California Cuisine & Bar." This looks set to become a new spot in the Aoyama area, where there are few restaurants open late.
