The Imperial Hotel celebrates "Swiss Christmas" with an aluminum bottle tree

Nov 27, 2014

The Imperial Hotel Plaza, a commercial zone within the hotel, is hosting the "Christmas Fair 2014: Swiss Christmas," from November 22 to December 25. This event commemorates the 150th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Switzerland. The Christmas tree in the entrance lobby is decorated with Swiss-made aluminum bottles from SIGG, and 600 water bottles hang like ornaments, emitting various colors, including red, green, white, and blue. In addition, Swiss brands are exhibiting throughout the building, including Akris, a brand from St. Gallen, known for its embroidered lace, which is showcasing a dress featuring LEDs. Other exhibits include jewelry from Adler and organic cosmetics made with edelweiss from Athanor. During the event, gift cards will be distributed for every purchase of 20,000 yen, and depending on the number of cards, you can receive a gift of Imperial Hotel Christmas sweets or other items. Panel exhibits about Switzerland, including its relationship with Japan and Christmas customs, will also be displayed throughout the plaza.

In addition, a Christmas wreath-making workshop will be held at 1:30 pm on the 29th. Under the guidance of Daiichi Engei's top artist Mitsufumi Arai, you can make lace inspired by the silvery white of Switzerland. A Christmas concert by the TOKYO FM Boys' Choir is also scheduled for December 23rd.
