A Degree Fahrenheit, designed by designer Yu Amano, presented its 2013 Spring/Summer collection at Shibuya Hikarie. The brand's seasonal theme is always temperature. This time, the theme was the melting point of glass, 1292 degrees Fahrenheit (700 degrees Celsius), and the collection embodied the sharpness, flexibility, and transparency of glass.
The looks were all white, embodying the transparency of glass. The drapes, created by cutting and twisting, evoked the appearance of melting glass. Details like slashed dresses and lace bustiers evoked broken glass. Swimsuits and halter-neck tops with shorts also featured, suggesting a resort look.
The elegant atmosphere was accented with occasional corset-style belts and leather. The beautifully draped triacetate fabric was used extensively. Dyson fans lined the runway, sending moving dresses billowing in the wind.
