On March 22nd, designer Yu Amano's A DEGREE FAHRENHEIT presented its 2013-2014 Autumn/Winter collection at Shibuya Hikarie. While temperature is a key theme for each season, this season's theme was "122°F (50°C) 'Heat of Reaction,'" evoking the oxidation reaction of iron rusting. The collection featured dresses, sets, and coats with elaborate patterns, combining brown, gray, and black in two-tone tones. The colors shifted sharply on the front and back bodices, shoulder yokes, and skirt hems. The oxidation process was directly reflected in the gray herringbone fabric that gradually fades to black in one direction, as well as the rust on the bangles. The collection concluded with a series of satin dresses featuring generous draping, a signature feature of the brand. The brand previously presented at Berlin Fashion Week in January. Regarding the differences from Tokyo Collection, Amatsu said, "In Berlin, I presented a lot of dresses, but this time I chose more realistic pieces. Berlin has a similar atmosphere to New York, where I used to work. I felt that the clothes were being made with MD in mind. There aren't many dress scenes in Japan, so I would like to present in New York as soon as possible."
