The "Corolla Hybrid Jeans," a hybrid model of the Corolla Fielder released by Toyota in August, wrapped in denim fabric, is on display at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show.
The vehicle, which debuted at Shinjuku Station Square in August, is the only one produced worldwide. With the cooperation of the Japan Jeans Council, denim fabric manufacturer Kaihara provided the material.
This vehicle, created with the concept of "casual without being too formal, yet also suitable for formal occasions," features denim fabric attached to each part of the car, including the doors, and the steering wheel and seats are also wrapped in denim. The yellow stitching is printed, and the vehicle also features original rivets. It is not scheduled for general sale.
The venue also expresses the worldview of Toyota's "TOYOTOWN" campaign, which is featured in commercials and other media. There are life-size figures of Masato Sakai, who plays the husband, Hikari Mitsushima, his wife, Hiroshi Abe, who plays the postman, and Tsurube Shofutei, and a denim Doraemon doll signed by Takuya Kimura, who plays the mayor of TOYOTOWN and established "JEANS DAY" as a rule for the city. Also on display are a life-size Anywhere Door and the "ReBORN PINK" crown, which is the same pink as the Anywhere Door and was released this fall as a limited edition.
