Seijo Ishii will open its first authentic wine bar, "Le Bar a vin 52" (2nd floor, Azabujuban Square, 2-2-10 Azabujuban, Minato-ku, Tokyo), in Azabujuban, Tokyo, on the 17th of next month.
The bar will be located on the second floor of a newly constructed residence along Azabujuban's main street. Making full use of the procurement and development capabilities that Seijo Ishii has cultivated over the 86 years since its founding, the bar will offer a selection of wines and ingredients from around the world at great value for money.
The wines are directly imported from the wine-producing regions by the company's own oenologists (wine-brewing technical managers) and buyers, who transport them to Japan in low-temperature, low-humidity containers, under strict quality control. The store's owner, a specialist who has been in charge of the wine section at Seijo Ishii Seijo store, personally selects 120 bottled wines, including house wines "EPICERIE BONHEUR" and "Château Montpela," as well as weekly changing wines by the glass.
There's also a wide selection of food to pair with the wine. Taking advantage of Seijo Ishii's procurement capabilities, the store offers the world's three great prosciuttos - Prosciutto di Parma, Jamon Serrano, and Prosciutto di San Daniele - sliced to order in-store. There's also a wide selection of European cheeses, primarily from France and Italy, including Parmigiano Reggiano, known as the "King of Italian Cheeses," served in large slices. Other dishes on offer include specialties using caviar, foie gras and truffles, domestic Japanese Black Beef stewed in Bordeaux red wine, and a rich cheese fondue made with Emmental and Gruyère. All 52 dishes have been prepared by a veteran chef who has worked as a chef at a first-class hotel and is now leading the Western cuisine department of Seijo Ishii Central Kitchen.
Seijo Ishii opened a new store, "Epicerie Bonheur," on the second basement floor of Otemori in Otemachi, Tokyo, last month.
