Fashion designer Keita Maruyama was born on March 4, 1965, in Tokyo.
He graduated from Bunka Fashion College's Fashion Technology and Apparel Design Department in 1987 and began working as a planning designer for apparel companies. In 1990, he became a freelance designer and began attracting attention by designing costumes for commercials, TV personalities, and musicians such as DREAMS COME TRUE.
He debuted with the "KEITA MARUYAMA" brand at the 1994-95 AW Tokyo Collection. In 1996, he won the 14th Mainichi Fashion Award Newcomer Award and the Shiseido Encouragement Award. He also made his Paris Fashion Week debut in 1997. In addition to the ready-to-wear wedding dress line "Wedding Dress KEITA MARUYAMA" and the daily lines "Dress Dredd by KEITA MARUYAMA" and "KNIT By KEITA MARUYAMA," he also operates "Keita Maruyama D-Line," a line exclusive to DECADE on the second floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku.

Last year, he oversaw the uniforms worn by Japan Airlines flight attendants and ground staff. In addition to his work as a designer, he also serves as a special lecturer at the Department of Fashion Design at Nagoya University of Arts and Sciences.
