Maison Cacao, the operator of the aromatic raw chocolate specialty store "MAISON CACAO," will be taking pre-orders for its 2020 Christmas cake, "CACAO NOIR by MAISON CACAO," in limited quantities from October 10th. As befits a raw chocolate brand, the cake is made with all kinds of chocolate, yet has a smooth, light texture that melts in your mouth.

CACAO NOIR by MAISON CACAO: (4,500 yen excluding tax)
Our 2020 Christmas cake was born from the desire to explore new possibilities in chocolate cake. When you think of chocolate cake, you might think of it as being rich but a little heavy, with a hint of liquor that gives it a slightly more adult impression. At MAISON CACAO, we have created a five-layered cake based on the concept of "a cake that tastes more chocolate than the chocolate itself," allowing you to enjoy the depth of Colombian cacao and the richness of chocolate while maintaining a light finish.

The first layer is a light, airy sponge cake. The second layer is an almond milk mousse with a clean, light texture and nutty aroma that pairs perfectly with chocolate. The third layer is made of coarsely crushed pistachios, almonds, and bitter chocolate. The fourth layer is a bittersweet caramel chocolate custard sauce, and the fifth layer is a glossy chocolate glaze.
This is a cake where you can taste the richness of chocolate and its light texture no matter where you bite into it.

This aroma raw chocolate brand was founded on Komachi-dori in Kamakura in 2015. With a commitment to quality and sustainability, they own their own farm in Colombia where they grow, harvest, and process the chocolate into couverture locally. Guided by our corporate philosophy of "Enjoying the Unknown," we travel the world, encountering many unknowns, including materials and art and design, to develop and sell products that offer new cacao experiences.
