[1st Floor] Takayama Yosuke (Gallery: ANOMALY)
Born in Gunma Prefecture in 1980. Resides in Kanagawa Prefecture. In 2007, he completed his Master's program in Sculpture at Tama Art University's Graduate School of Fine Arts. Since his time as a student, he has been creating works primarily using wood as a material. In recent years, he has expanded the scope of his activities, participating in a public production at the Fuchu Art Museum in 2015 and an artist-in-residence program at the Susaki Artist-in-Residence in 2019. His major exhibitions include the solo exhibitions "Unknown Sculpture Series No.7 #4 Morning Song" (gallery21yo-j, 2017) and "Courtyard" (CAPSULE, 2016), as well as the group exhibitions "Takayanagi Eri x Takayama Yosuke x Chiba Masaya" (Tama Art University Hachioji Campus Art-Theque Gallery, 2017), "Collection + Actions and Traces" (Arts Maebashi, 2016), and "Captive, Escape, Captive, Escape" (Komagome Warehouse, 2016).

Takayama Yosuke "Untitled (Venus)" (2019)
Camphor wood, acrylic paint, phosphorescent paint, water-based urethane paint, newspaper, 78x47x11cm (work itself)
Based on traditional wooden sculpture, Takayama's work sincerely pursues the very concept of "sculpture" in the modern era, including the production of woodblock prints and reliefs that are nearly two-dimensional, and presentation methods that carefully consider the nature of the pedestal. Many of his works feature depictions of everyday life and people, and his series of head-shaped statues in particular numbers 60 pieces. The rough traces of the chainsaw and drips of paint running down the wood surface reveal Takayama's spirituality as he confronts the material, as well as various memories and layers of time.

[2nd floor] Shibata Yusuke (Gallery: WAITINGROOM)
Born in Fukuoka Prefecture in 1980. Graduated from the Printmaking course at Musashino Art University Graduate School of Fine Arts in 2007. Focusing on the ambiguity and uncertainty of the real world, he has exhibited installations both in Japan and abroad using a variety of media, including video, photography, and objects. In 2019, he conducted research on the history of video in 11 cities in six Southeast Asian countries as a recipient of the Japan Foundation Asia Fellowship. Recent exhibitions include the 2019 screening of "VIDEO BATTLE Yusuke Shibata" (Indonesian Institute of the Arts, Yogyakarta), the 2018 solo exhibition "Meeting Point" (Yet Thirtieth Experimental Art Space, Hong Kong), the 2017 group exhibition "Oku-Noto International Art Festival" (former Kodomari Nursery School, Ishikawa), the 2017 solo exhibition "Continuation of Public and Freedom" (WAITINGROOM, Tokyo), and the 2016 solo exhibition "Public and Freedom" (Art Center Ongoing, Tokyo). He is a member of Ongoing Collective and has organized freestyle photo battles.

"PUBLIC AND FREEDOM II" is an installation series combining photography with objects such as furniture and equipment. It explores the possibilities of landscapes that arise from interactions between the "public spaces" we share as we live in society and the behavior of those we see on the streets. This exhibition follows his solo exhibitions "PUBLIC AND FREEDOM" held at Art Center Ongoing in 2016 and "PUBLIC AND FREEDOM II" held at WAITINGROOM in 2017, and adds new works to the series, presenting it as "PUBLIC AND FREEDOM II."

[4th Floor] Takashi Hinoda (Gallery: imura art gallery)
Born in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture in 1968. Graduated from the Department of Crafts, Ceramics, Faculty of Arts, Osaka University of Arts in 1991. Since his first solo exhibition in 1992, he has presented his work in solo and group exhibitions at galleries and museums both in Japan and abroad. In 2010, he received the Encouragement Award from the Kyoto Prefectural Cultural Award. He is currently a professor at Saga University of Arts. In recent years, Hinoda has proposed the neologism "shushiki keigaku" (the joy of hand-colored and shaped work) to define his own practice. This is envisioned as an alternative framework to the modern Western term "fine art" or the Japanese term "bijutsu."

Ceramic (pottery/porcelain), 156.5 x 75 x 88 cm
The work "Pluripotent Cells" was originally inspired by the topic of regenerative cells, which are being developed for medical purposes and other purposes. There seems to be a resonance between the process by which initialized cells specialize in specific shapes, qualities, and functions and the process by which they shape the clay. The underlying image seems to be the blind strength of life, which expands outward, transcending issues of good and evil. (Hinoda Takashi)

[6th Floor] Ikezaki Takuya (Gallery: Satoko Oe Contemporary)
Born in Tokunoshima, Kagoshima Prefecture in 1981. Graduated from the Department of Oil Painting, Faculty of Art and Design, Musashino Art University in 2005. Studied as an experimental artist at the Department of Art and Design, Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, China from 2008 to 2010. Currently resides in New York. Using discarded materials and inexpensive materials found in everyday life, she creates works that address her identity as a native of Amami and the environment and site of the earthquake. Her major exhibitions include "Beautiful (Heart) World" at Satoko Oe Contemporary (2017) and "Creating Paradise - New Horizons in Art and Everyday Life" at Gallery αM (2013).
Takuya Ikezaki "I Love You, Daddy (Heart)" (2020)
Takuya Ikezaki "I Love You, Daddy (Heart)" (2020)
The message my daughter sent my wife on her cell phone was a jumble of letters, incomprehensible, almost like a code. When I asked my daughter, "What did you send me?" she replied, "I love you, Daddy." It was an answer I would never have imagined from this code. This "code," created by a child who cannot yet read or write, taps away at their phone or computer. It may be forgotten as nothing more than the usual rambling string of letters and symbols that children often make. However, I decided to create an artwork based on my own experience, using this "code," which is often treated in the same way. Reading the "code" carefully reveals many discoveries, and there is also the fascinating ability to imagine all sorts of things from the connections between the letters. It feels like the intriguing unravelling of an abstract painting filled with symbols and alphabets. (Ikezaki Takuya)
