The second installment of the "Ultra Plant Expo" is themed around "Containers and Plants." The venue is designed by Shinichiro Ogata of SIMPLICITY.

Jul 19, 2016

Plant hunter Seijun Nishihata's "Ultra Plant Expo 2016: Seijun Nishihata and His Delightful Plants" exhibition will be held at the Pola Museum Annex in Ginza, Tokyo, from August 4th to September 25th. The exhibition showcases a variety of rare plants collected by Seijun Nishihata, a plant hunter who travels around the world to source more than 240 tons of plants annually. Following last year's exhibition, this year's exhibition marks the second time the exhibition has been held. This time, Shinichiro Ogata, president of SIMPLICITY, is in charge of the venue design. In a completely different space from last year, the exhibition will showcase collaborative works featuring potter Koichi Uchida's vessels and Seijun Nishihata's plants. In conjunction with the exhibition, plants from Sora Botanical Garden will be on display in the window on the first floor of the Pola Ginza Building, which also serves as a venue for showcasing artists' work. Furthermore, plants planted in Koichi Uchida's vessels will be available for purchase for a limited time and in limited quantities at HIGASHIYA GINZA on the second floor.
