Kihachi's new concept restaurant opens in Gaien Ginkgo Avenue, eliminating the boundary between the kitchen and dining area!

Apr 5, 2013

On April 2nd, Kihachi opened a new concept restaurant, "Kihachi Aoyama Main Branch," along Ginkgo Avenue in Gaien, Aoyama.

"We want young people who have never been to our restaurant before to feel free to enjoy Kihachi's flavors and service," said Aoyama Main Branch Executive Chef Masao Suzuki. With a total floor area of 520m2 and seating for 226, the large Aoyama Main Branch is based on the "BY THE KITCHEN" concept, further evolving Kihachi's original "kitchen." Its greatest feature is that guests can feel the dynamism and realism of the food being prepared in the kitchen while seated at their table.

The "grilled"-themed cuisine is based on French cuisine, and the chef carefully selects ingredients to prepare them in a special oven, grill, or hot plate. The restaurant offers a variety of sharing menus, including "KIHACHI's Tsutsumi," which instantly emanates a juicy lamb and exotic spicy aroma, and "Finishing Touch!", a salad featuring a generous amount of king crab, avocado, and grapefruit, expertly prepared right before your eyes by our service staff. The restaurant's stylish and open interior was designed by the design firm Moment. "Based on the spatial theme of 'BY THE KITCHEN,' we eliminated the boundaries between the kitchen and dining area as much as possible, creating a space where diners can enjoy their meal right in the kitchen," says Chef Suzuki. "Guests can directly experience the immersive atmosphere of the kitchen, creating a space that maximizes Kihachi's performance. With open kitchens becoming the norm these days, we hope this new style will be enjoyed by everyone." The bright, sun-drenched restaurant offers a variety of seating options, allowing you to choose a table based on your companions and your mood. The first floor features a chef's counter, giving the feeling of dining in the kitchen. The second floor offers a chef's seat overlooking the open kitchen, where you can enjoy freshly prepared, piping hot food. A wide variety of spaces are available, including a spacious dining area and private rooms accommodating 4 to 20 people. The first-floor garden terrace and second-floor roof terrace offer views of the Gaien ginkgo trees, allowing you to feel as if you are one with nature while enjoying your meal. The Aoyama flagship restaurant also caters to restaurant weddings. Based on the theme of "natural weddings," the restaurant offers a bridal plan featuring Kihachi cuisine and service in a warm, home-like setting surrounded by greenery. The average customer spend is expected to be ¥2,500 for lunch and ¥5,000 for dinner. As Kihachi's flagship restaurant, the restaurant will host regular events and provide information.
