Three Tokyo fashion designers have collaborated with knitwear manufacturer Ieri Design Products Co., Ltd. (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, hereafter referred to as Ieri) to create a collection titled "3 Designers x Ieri Design Products." Participants include Yasutaka Tomita of Dictionary, Kiminori Morishita of 08sircus, and Yuki Yasumune of RITA JEANS TOKYO. The lineup includes 15 styles, including coats, jackets, and tops. Menswear-inspired items like biker jackets, duffle coats, and down jackets feature a feminine silhouette, taking advantage of the stretchiness of knitwear. Sweaters and cardigans feature soft textures and colors that make them easy to mix and match. Cardigans, made with a combination of woven fabrics, can be styled differently depending on whether you style them from the front or back. These items are scheduled to be available in stores from around August.
Ieri's President Tezuka explained what prompted the collaboration, saying, "Ieri does business with 600 companies both in Japan and overseas, and more than 400 companies visit our exhibitions. We wanted to leverage this background to partner with Japanese designers and promote Japanese fashion. As demand for knitwear is on the rise, we thought that by collaborating with designers, we could produce highly competitive products thanks to our specialized knitwear technology and quality control system. We hope that this project will also spark interest in their main line."
Yasumune, one of the participating designers, said, "Knitwear is an item that is difficult to secure a production background for. This time (with Ieri's cooperation), we were able to take on designs that we would not have been able to create on our own, and honestly pursue what we wanted to do."
