"Freestyle" was released in 2004. The original material, made by laminating polyurethane onto the surface of No. 10 canvas, is characterized by a unique texture that looks like leather, and even now, 15 years after its release, it remains a popular staple series from PORTER. "Freestyle" was launched after material development began with the concept of "What if there was a series that was more casual and easy to carry for people who love the feel of leather?" Free Style Dyneema(R) Bonded Leather was born from the shared desire to make real leather lighter and easier to handle. Both brands share the same goal: to make leather products more accessible and enjoyable.

【About DriTan TM】
https://youtu.be/789L_v_eco4
DriTan TM is a tanning technology developed by ECCO LEATHER. The leather tanning process was previously thought to be impossible without using large amounts of water. ECCO LEATHER's DriTan™ breaks this cycle. DriTan™ utilizes the moisture naturally contained in hides, reducing the amount of water needed to tan each hide by approximately 20 liters. ECCO LEATHER tans approximately 1.25 million hides annually, saving approximately 25 million liters of water annually. According to figures from the World Health Organization (WHO), this is equivalent to the amount of water needed by approximately 9,000 people per year. In addition to saving significant amounts of water, wastewater discharge and chemical use are also minimized. At its production site in the Netherlands, this reduces sludge production by approximately 600 tons per year.
About the Leather Working Group (LWG)
https://www.leatherworkinggroup.com/

Turning hides into leather requires extensive water, chemicals, and laborious work. Some leather factories around the world still employ child labor and harm the environment in order to increase their profits. The Leather Working Group (LWG) is an international organization that audits tanneries to prevent such practices. Its mission is to protect the global environment and provide consumers with safe and reliable leather. Tanneries that pass rigorous audits are certified, and many of the world's leading brands are actively promoting certified leather through LWG membership. Specifically, the LWG requires that leather factories comply with approximately 250 audit criteria, including environmental protection, water, waste, and energy management, raw material tracking, employee training, factory cleanliness, and compliance with regulations. ECCO LEATHER is a member of the LWG, and all of its factories in four locations around the world (the Netherlands, Thailand, Indonesia, and China) have met the highest audit standards and earned a Gold Rating.
