ECCO LEATHER's DriTan™ breaks this cycle. DriTan™ utilizes the moisture naturally contained in hides, reducing the amount of water needed to tan each hide by approximately 20 liters. ECCO LEATHER tans approximately 1.25 million hides annually, saving approximately 25 million liters of water annually. According to figures from the World Health Organization (WHO), this is equivalent to the amount of water needed by approximately 9,000 people per year. In addition to saving significant amounts of water, wastewater discharge and chemical use are also minimized.
