PORTER CLASSIC, founded by Katsuyuki Yoshida and Reo Yoshida in 2007, has teamed up with OKURA, the flagship store of Seirin Koji's original brand, BLUE BLUE JAPAN, to release two limited-edition backpacks.

PORTER CLASSIC developed the next-generation "Newton" backpack series over three years. The backpacks feature the "muatsu" body pressure-relieving mattress pad from long-established bedding manufacturer Showa Nishikawa in the shoulder harness, and are fused with OKURA's signature materials and warmth of handcraft. Two models, the "NEWTON CITY RUCKSACK" and the "NEWTON BUSINESS RUCKSACK," will be available in limited quantities.

The "NEWTON CITY RUCKSACK" features a body made of Cordura nylon, which is resistant to abrasion and tearing, giving it a sleek look and high durability. It features pockets throughout for a variety of uses and a compact size that is comfortable for women and children, making it a perfect fit for urban life.

For this collaboration, a hand-embroidered Heart-in-Yang patch made from thread dyed with Magnolia umbellata harvested in the Noto region of Ishikawa Prefecture is placed on the right pocket of the bag. In addition, a handle cover made from Sakiori fabric, made from recycled leftover fabric from "BLUE BLUE JAPAN", is attached to the handle and can be attached and removed with a snap button.

In addition, a small heart is embroidered in the same Kuromoji-dyed thread on one side of the main zipper pull, and OKURA's iconic heart-in-yan pin label is adorned on the triangular seat at the base of the shoulder harness. The inner pocket is adorned with the "ARIGATO" name, making this a special item that has been carefully crafted down to the smallest detail.

The "NEWTON BUSINESS RUCKSACK" also features a body made of Cordura nylon, which is resistant to abrasion and tearing, and this model is packed with OKURA's signature attention to detail. It has a reliable capacity that can even fit a 15-inch laptop. Despite its simple design, it has plenty of pockets, making it easy to organize your belongings. Its construction also reduces strain on your shoulders and waist, even when carrying the bag for long periods of time, such as commuting or business trips.
