It's been 100 years since the birth of the Leica I in 1925, and 90 years since Yoshida & Co. was founded in 1935. Leica, which has supported the evolution of visual culture, and PORTER, which has refined Japanese portability aesthetics, have announced a collaboration item in this milestone year. This time, the item being released is a backpack set that includes a camera case and pouch. It is not just an anniversary item, but is designed as a product that returns to the origins of these two crafts: a "tool for recording" and a "bag for carrying."

The Leica I revolutionized portable vision
The arrival of the Leica I compact camera in 1925 brought a new sense of taking the landscape with us. From the studio to the street, recording became a mobile activity, and photography evolved from a piece of equipment to a tool worn daily. Leica's 100th anniversary marks a milestone that marks the continuation and expansion of that philosophy.

90 Years of Yoshida & Co. - The Aesthetic Sense Residing in "Carrying Things"
Yoshida & Co., Ltd., under the motto of "Put your heart and soul into every stitch," has continued to create "bags for professionals" in post-war Japan. PORTER bags are designed to fit the movements of the user without overemphasizing functionality, and have evolved in line with the physical sensations of urban dwellers. Now, as the company reaches the milestone of its 90th anniversary, PORTER faces Leica as the "next translation" of its craftsmanship.

The moment a tool transforms into fashion
While this collection features camera accessories in the form of gear, the restrained visual design and the texture of the materials give them a "fashionable presence." The moment captured by a Leica and the movement supported by a PORTER - when these two functions come together, the tool transforms from a mere piece of equipment into a "device for designing action."
