The collection, consisting of four items, will be available exclusively from August 8, 2020 at authorized BAPE(R) stores, the BAPE.COM WEBSTORE, and the Clarks Official Online Store. Clarks ORIGINALS, which combines traditional British craftsmanship with innovative technology, has now established itself as a part of street culture. Its signature products, the Wallabee Boots and Desert Boots, remain true to its roots while continuing to value its connection to modern society. This approach, which can be described as truly original branding, is consistent with the history of the brand A BATHING APE(R).

This collaboration between the two companies will create a one-of-a-kind capsule collection that will go down in history. This item commemorates the 70th anniversary of the birth of the Desert Boot, a Clarks icon that has remained unchanged since its release in 1950.

Clarks ORIGINALS has established itself as a street culture brand while melding traditional British craftsmanship and innovative footwear technology. The brand's signature products, such as the Wallabee boots and Desert boots, remain faithful to their roots while continuing to value their connection to modern fashion and culture. This stance, which can be described as an authentic and original branding, is also common to the branding that “A BATHING APE(R)” has preserved over the past 27 years.

The collaboration between the two brands have resulted in a capsule collection unlike any other. The collection will go down in history as the 70th anniversary of the iconic Clarks Desert boot, which has been an icon since its debut in 1950.

“A BATHING APE(R)” and “Clarks Featuring the "BAPE ORIGINALS" branding, every detail has been faithfully recreated to the original, from the stitch length to the desert boot's "220" last. The Wallabee boots feature an ultra-lightweight shark sole outsole, and the upper features BAPE®'s distinctive camouflage pattern and high-quality suede provided by Charles F. Stead. The desert boots feature different BAPE® artwork laser-printed on each upper. This collection celebrates BAPE®'s influence on global streetwear and its achievements in spreading Japanese fashion culture around the world and establishing its position.

Every detail remains true to the original, from the length of stitching to the refined 220cm last that each boot is formed around. While both profiles feature an ultra-comfortable leather lining and dual Clarks x BAPE(R) branding, the Wallabee features an extra-light outsole with unique “shark tooth” tread and signature BAPE(R) camo textile on a premium suede vamp. The Desert Boot has laser printed BAPE(R) logos – which are different on each foot in a pair – and Clarks’ signature crepe outsole. This collection celebrates BAPE(R)’s impact on the world of streetwear and its success in introducing Japanese fashion culture to the world, together with Clarks ORIGINALS.

English football icon, Manchester City's Raheem Sterling, has been chosen as the image model for this collaboration between the two brands, which have fans worldwide.

The two brands share iconic status on the world stage and in order to bring this collaboration to life, the campaign imageries feature Manchester City and England footballing icon, Raheem Sterling.
