Fashion model and designer Inès de la Fressange was born on August 11, 1957, in the Var department of France. Her father was from an aristocratic family and her mother was a fashion model. She debuted as a model for Elle magazine in 1975, and in 1983, she was appointed by Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld to become the brand's muse. Over the next seven years, she appeared in advertising campaigns and runway shows. She continues to appear in shows in recent years. In 1989, she won the Prix Marianne, a symbol of French femininity, but this resulted in the termination of her exclusive contract with Chanel. In 1990, she founded her own fashion brand, Inès de la Fressange, and opened a boutique on Avenue Montaigne in Paris. The store, which sold apparel, accessories, and interior goods, became popular and expanded into the United States and Japan.
Around 2000, she left Inès de la Fressange due to troubles with management, and the brand's popularity began to decline. However, in June this year, it was announced that the brand would be relaunched under a new structure. Inès herself will be involved in this project.
She is also a brand ambassador for the luxury leather brand Roger Vivier, which will open its first Tokyo store at Matsuya Ginza on September 14th, and has appeared in the new 14SS movie, etc.
