Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings will open the "Isetan Outlet Store" on August 16th at the Gotemba Premium Outlets (1312 Fukazawa, Gotemba City, Shizuoka Prefecture), operated by Mitsubishi Estate Simon Co., Ltd. The store will have a floor space of approximately 246 square meters. It will carry only women's clothing and accessories, with markdowns of approximately 50% off retail prices. The company opened a temporary store at Gotemba Outlets in 2011, and this will be its fourth permanent store, following stores in Sano (Tochigi Prefecture), Shisui (Chiba Prefecture), and Ami (Ibaraki Prefecture). The company is actively developing small- to medium-sized stores with a scale and product lineup tailored to the local characteristics of each area, utilizing new sales channels such as areas within daily living areas and areas without department stores. As part of this effort, the company has opened outlet stores, as well as the cosmetics selection shop Isetan Mirror, the Haneda store at the airport, and a pop-up shop at the Ebina service area. The company plans to expand its store network further.
