ISETAN MiRROR Make&Cosmetics, a luxury cosmetics selection shop run by Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings, opened two stores simultaneously on March 12th: one in Lumine Yokohama (Nishi-ku, Yokohama) and the other in Lumine Kita-Senju (Adachi-ku, Tokyo). Based on the concept of "a luxury cosmetics shop where you can buy only what you want, when you want, how you want," ISETAN MiRROR leverages the sales know-how and product procurement capabilities cultivated at Isetan Shinjuku, a formidable competitor in the field, to curate luxury cosmetics from Japan and abroad with a customer-oriented perspective. This follows the opening of the Lumine Shinjuku store in March 2012, followed by the Lumine Omiya store in September of the same year, and the third store, Celeo Hachioji North Building, in January 2013. The Lumine Yokohama store has a sales floor area of approximately 165 square meters, while the Lumine Kita-Senju store is approximately 190 square meters. The store carries 15 brands, including Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, RMK, Lancôme, and Clinique. In addition, to coincide with the opening of the new store, the original brand "Isetan Mirror Beaute" released eyeshadow (six colors, ¥2,940 each), blush (three colors, ¥2,310 each), and lipstick (six colors, ¥2,415 each), following the eyeliner, mascara, and lip gloss released in January. Two days after the store's opening on March 12, sales at both stores were on a budget basis. The Lumine Yokohama store reported a high share of makeup sales, while the Lumine Kita-Senju store reported strong sales of skincare. The group plans to continue opening small stores in areas without sales offices, such as Yokohama and Kita-Senju, or in areas where it has difficulty opening large stores like department stores. The Kichijoji Parco store is scheduled to open on April 6. The company will gradually open stores in station buildings and commercial facilities across the country.
