3.1 Phillip Lim bag event held at Isetan. Interior design by Tsune Nagasaka, ahead of Omotesando Hills

Aug 14, 2013

On the 14th, 3.1 Phillip Lim kicked off a limited-time event showcasing their 2013-2014 Autumn/Winter bag collection at the Isetan Shinjuku store's first-floor bag counter. It will run until August 19th. The event will feature pre-orders for satchel bags and totes from the new "RYDER" series, inspired by motorcycle saddlebags and launched this season (available for pre-order from the 23rd onward). Other items available include the classic Pashli, 31 Minute Bag, and 31 Hour Bag. The RYDER series was also introduced in the Pre-Spring 2014 collection. The venue was designed by architectural designer Tsuneo Nagasaka of Schemata Architects. This was his first visit to the department store for this event. He created "dry" fixtures using recycled wood to balance the glittering interior. Parts of dismantled furniture are used for the wooden fixtures. There are also fixtures and displays made from wire hangers. These fixtures will also be used in the leather goods shop that will open in Omotesando Hills from August 23rd for a limited period of five months.

3.1 Phillip Lim is celebrating its fifth anniversary in Japan this year. In September, the Matsuya Ginza store will be completely renovated in conjunction with the renovation of the main building.
