
At the 2013 CFDA Fashion Awards, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) awarded Thom Browne in the Men's Designer of the Year category, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler in the Women's Designer of the Year category, and Phillip Lim in the Accessories category. Vera Wang, recognized for her longstanding contributions to the American fashion industry, received the Lifetime Achievement Award, her fourth CFDA award. Oscar de la Renta received the Founder's Award, and Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci received the International Award. In addition, the Swarovski-sponsored Designer of the Year Awards, Men's Wear, went to Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne of PUBLIC SCHOOL, Women's Wear, went to Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty of SUNO, Accessories, went to Pamela Love, Media, fashion journalist Tim Blanks (Style.com), and costume designer Colleen Atwood received the Board of Directors Tribute Award. The awards ceremony was held at Lincoln Center in New York on June 3rd. The CFDA is a non-profit organization established in 1962 to promote the American fashion industry. The CFDA Fashion Awards are held annually, with winners selected from nominees in each category nominated by more than 400 members, retailers, journalists and stylists.
