Three new recipes using seasonal summer fruits added to flat-rate personal smoothie service "GREEN SPOON"

Greenspoon Inc., a food startup whose mission is to "create a joyful food self-care culture," will be adding three new recipes to its flat-rate personal smoothie service, "GREEN SPOON," available for a limited time and in limited quantities for three months from July to September. Orders will begin being accepted from July 6, August 3, and August 31, 2020, respectively.


In addition to the usual 25 recipes, three new recipes will be added that are available for a limited time and in limited quantities for the summer. The three new flavors are "Pink Wave," released in July, accented by the tartness of acerola and the sweet and sour taste unique to Hyuganatsu summer oranges; "Pear," released in August, features a refreshing and gentle sweetness made with two types of pears, the Kosui Japanese pear and the William European pear; and "Ruby," released in September, combines Kyoho and crimson grapes to achieve the perfect balance of sweetness and tartness.

Each user can select up to two recipes per month. Three months after the service began, limited-edition recipes have been created in response to user requests for more fruit-based smoothies.


【Pink Wave】


The July flavor is "Pink Wave," accented by the tartness of acerola and the sweet and sour taste unique to hyuganatsu. The acerola used this time, grown on Ishigaki Island in Okinawa, contains approximately 34 times (※1) the amount of vitamin C as lemons, and is expected to have antioxidant and anti-stress effects. Hyuganatsu grown in Miyazaki Prefecture is rich in citric acid and vitamin C, which help recover from fatigue, and also supports lipid metabolism.

【Pair Pear】


For August, we have "Pair Pear," which uses two types of pear, the Japanese pear Kosui and the European pear William, and stands out for its refreshing and gentle sweetness. The mint gives it a subtle, refreshing aroma, making it easy to drink even in the hot summer. The pears used are from Kumamoto Prefecture's Kosui variety, which was in season in June this year. Pears contain aspartic acid and citric acid, which help recover from fatigue, and also support digestion, making them ideal for supporting tired internal organs.

【Ruby】


For September, we have "Ruby," a combination of two types of grapes, Kyoho and crimson grapes, which achieves the optimal balance of sweetness and acidity. It's the perfect taste for early autumn, in September. Grapes contain vitamin B1, which promotes carbohydrate metabolism, and glucose helps recover from fatigue. We source our Kyoho grapes from Okada Farm in Yamanouchi Town, Nagano Prefecture. These high-quality Kyoho grapes have won numerous awards, including the top prize, at prestigious competitions in Yamanouchi Town, known as the "Fruit Kingdom."

This time, we will be using grapes that, while the taste and quality of the product itself are fine, would otherwise be discarded due to non-standard size or blemishes, making them unable to be distributed through standard sales channels. By purchasing non-standard grapes, we aim to contribute to solving the issue of food waste.

How to make:
 STEP 1 Pour water, milk, soy milk or your favorite drink into the cup until the ingredients are submerged (approximately 150cc to 200cc).
