Matsuzakaya Ueno store will host "Okurimoyo," the department store industry's first personalized wrapping event, from June 17th to 21st.
"Okurimoyo" is a collaborative project with Hanbai Kaigi, a specialized magazine published by Senden Kaigi, a comprehensive marketing and communications think tank. In last year's Hanbai Kaigi planning competition, Daimaru Matsuzakaya solicited ideas for measures to attract young people, who are feared to be increasingly turning away from department stores in recent years. The project, which won a bronze medal in the competition, is now being implemented in conjunction with Father's Day.
This project is a service that allows customers to design original wrapping paper using their favorite photos. By creating original wrapping paper using their favorite photos on a special website and obtaining an ID in advance, customers can use it for gift wrapping at a special counter located in the north exit arcade on the first floor of the Matsuzakaya Ueno store's main building. Generally, gifts with photos have the drawback of taking some time from ordering to delivery, but with "Okurimoyo," you can design and receive your gift in just one day.
You can show your father your daily life through photos, and it's also a way to update him on your current situation through a gift, making it the perfect gift for a father you don't usually get to talk to. This service is available to customers who make purchases at designated sales points. The price is 500 yen per package, and if you purchase Father's Day gifts worth 5,400 yen or more at designated sales points, packaging is free.
