On the 26th, Daimaru Matsuzakaya Department Store announced the reconstruction of the South Building of the Matsuzakaya Ueno Store (3-29-5 Ueno, Taito-ku, Tokyo).

The building closed in March 2014 and is scheduled for a grand reopening in the fall of 2017 as a high-rise complex with two basement floors, 23 floors above ground, and a total floor area of 42,000 square meters. The floor layout is as follows: basement floors 1 to 10 are commercial zones. The basement floor is connected to the food area of the main building of the store. Parco will occupy floors 1 to 6, and floors 7 to 10 will house the cinema complex "TOHO Cinemas." Floors 12 to 22 will be office floors, with rental income expected to be generated.
