Prada's Fall/Winter 2017-18 men's collection, unveiled on January 15th, featured a succession of pieces reminiscent of the 1970s. A V-neck charcoal gray sweater, a sax blue button-down shirt, yellow-beige corduroy pants, and a wide fur belt marked the beginning of the show, a noble style characterized by sheer simplicity. The corduroy jacket, which was paired with the first look, featured large lapels and leather yoke details on the flap pockets, coordinated with a mini bag, creating a photogenic look similar to the women's collection. Leather-piped pockets are a signature feature of this season. The slightly faded, earthy colors evoke scenes from American movies of the time. In contrast to the men's collection, the women's collection featured a strong color palette, striking a striking balance between shared designs and contrasting colors. Painting-motif knitwear and large Native American-themed accessories take center stage at the chest.
The reuse of retro pieces, such as a wool coat with a high waist and a Spencer-length blouson with a waist and shoulder cut, sends a strong message to the repeating times.
