DIESEL BLACK GOLD's Fall/Winter 2017-18 collection was unveiled at Milan Men's Fashion Week on January 14th. The theme of the collection was "Urban Ninja." The first look featured the brand's signature biker jacket, with a kimono-inspired ensemble. The no-collar, haori silhouette, and belts evocative of family crests and obi belts all showcased Japanese inspiration. The kimono ensemble was used on many items, including coats and bomber jackets, and each piece was styled with a large hood, another signature feature of this season. The family crest (monogram) was also featured on pants, and the collection included a blouson jacket and indigo quilted in a sashiko style, giving the collection a strong "Japanese" feel.

The inspiration for the collection, which was inspired by Japanese martial arts, also seems to pay homage to the music video for Fortec's famous drum and bass anthem "2 Ten 1 Ryu," which was used as the music for the show.

The women's capsule collection, which was also announced at the same time, features leather dresses adorned with wide belts, denim tunic tops with quilted nylon, feminine apron dresses and pleated miniskirts, all paired with biker boots, demonstrating the brand's clear attitude under creative director Andreas Melbostad.
