ETRO's Fall/Winter 2017-18 men's collection was unveiled in Milan on January 16th. This season's inspiration was "mountains." The show was livestreamed on the brand's official website, with digital artworks in line with the collection's theme synchronized with the venue. A printed velvet gown coat and pants set, a parka with a collage of mountain motifs, a knitwear collage of mountain animals, and a checked quilt, a backpack with a mix of vibrant prints, and mountain boots. Creative Director Kean Etro's vision for a world of mountains is one that embodies the outdoors and the mystical and fantastical aspects of Asian mountains, which influenced 1970s hippie culture. It also highlights the beauty of nature. A classic tailored coat features pixelated mountain landscapes at the waist, and a kimono-style long coat with buckle straps. Relaxed patchwork nylon pants and high-density nylon combined with classic paisley and opalescent velvet are also available in a variety of colours, with collages of bears, wolves, deer and other motifs.
The finale will feature paisley snowboards and skis, a backpack with a collage of tie patterns and a sleeping bag patchworked with Etro fabric, which are sure to become the centrepieces of glamping.
