Chef Alan Deberhive Tolosa, formerly of the renowned Spanish restaurant El Bulli, will be hosting the "Chef Alan Deberhive Tolosa Japan Tour 2015" at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel from March 8th to 30th. El Bulli received 2 million reservations per year, making it a renowned restaurant that was difficult to book, but it suddenly closed in 2011. It previously received three Michelin stars and has been ranked number one in the "World's 50 Best Restaurants" list multiple times. Alan, who will be visiting Japan this time, was El Bulli's star chef Ferran Adrià's right-hand man for 10 years. He is currently the owner and chef of Catalunya, a popular restaurant that sparked the Spanish cuisine boom in Singapore and Hong Kong, making his name known worldwide. This event is part of Alain's Asia tour, which will take him to The Ritz-Carlton hotels in Asia, including Singapore, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. He will be cooking at The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto from March 8th to 12th, The Ritz-Carlton Osaka from March 17th to 21st, and The Ritz-Carlton Tokyo from March 26th to 30th. Lunch prices start from 6,000 yen, and dinner prices start from 12,000 yen. Reservations are now being accepted. The menu is based on the traditional cuisine of Alain's hometown, Catalonia, Spain. It incorporates the essence of El Bulli, known for its innovative new techniques such as molecular gastronomy, to create a completely new Spanish cuisine. Alain's specialty is the cochon de scallops with artichokes. The dish will feature crispy roasted suckling pig belly decorated with scallops and artichokes like a painting, as well as other dishes that will astound anyone who sees them.
Regarding his visit to Japan, Alan commented, "I am very excited to be embarking on my Japan tour. Although it is only a short period of just under a month, I look forward to welcoming everyone together with the Ritz-Carlton Hotels in Japan."
