On January 28, the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Tokyo will host a special dinner, "MAD Fundraiser at Noma Tokyo," featuring the chef of the Danish restaurant Noma.
Noma is a restaurant run by chef René Redzepi, who serves original cuisine based on local ingredients and cooking techniques. In addition to being awarded two Michelin stars, Noma has been named four times in the "S.Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants" list by the UK's Restaurant Magazine, and is known as one of the world's most difficult restaurants to book.
To enjoy this dinner, participants must purchase a ticket through an online auction running until December 18. As this year's dinner will feature dishes using Japanese ingredients, bids for two seats have exceeded $3,500 as of the 17th. Ten percent of the proceeds from the auction will be donated to TABLE FOR TWO International, a nonprofit organization that provides aid to developing countries, to help fund school meals for children in Africa.
