THE TEXTILE AND GENE BY D[di:], a lifestyle brand created by artist D[di:], has released an iPhone case in collaboration with Gizmobies, a company that makes gadget accessories.
D[di:] made his debut in 2000 with "Fantastic Silent," which he released while studying at Tama Art University and was endorsed by director Hayao Miyazaki. His second work, "Kigurumi," created the literary style known as "novel comics," shocking readers. Currently, while creating delicate tableaux, he is active in a wide range of fields, including novels, manga, illustration, fashion, and design.
For this collaboration, Gizmobies' iPhone case features animals that have appeared in D[di:]'s previous works. Humorous characters such as a cat wearing an Elizabethan collar are drawn in a cynical yet cute way with a delicate and unique touch.
The lineup consists of two types: a notebook cover (iPhone 6/4,000 yen) and a sticker type (iPhone 6/4,000 yen, iPhone 5/5S/3,800 yen). The notebook type comes in two designs: a cat wearing an Elizabethan collar and an owl. Meanwhile, the sticker type comes in the same two designs as the notebook type, plus the addition of alpaca, pink cat and fox for a total of five items. The notebook type has a built-in card pocket and can also be used as a pass case.
