On March 7, CHANEL presented its Fall/Winter 2023/24 ready-to-wear collection at the Grand Palais Ephémère in Paris.

"The camellia is more than just a theme; it's a timeless accessory for the House," explains Virginie Viard. "I love its softness and strength, which gives it a sense of security and familiarity," she says with a smile. "The winter flower makes an exhilarating appearance in the Fall/Winter 2023/24 ready-to-wear collection, blossoming in a floating romanticism on pockets, jackets, buttons, and prints."

Virginie Viard wanted to bring movement to the collection, while remaining delicate. "The idea for the Bermuda shorts suit and the asymmetrical designs came from the movement of the merry-go-round that Inès and Vinoodh captured on film with our heroine, actress Nana Komatsu," she reveals.

The color palette is precise and profound: shades of black, white, and pink. Virginie's women emerge clearly. The masculine melodies of peak lapels, floral coats that resemble dandy dressing gowns, and men's jackets that you'll want to throw on at the start of the day all connect with the bohemian spirit that drives her: a feeling that is both tender and romantic.

"Faded colours, dusty pinks, crafted pieces, touches of the 1960s and 70s, a British feel, comfortable, body-hugging coats and luxurious materials all add to the authenticity and allure of the collection."
