The Chanel Spring/Summer 2026 ready-to-wear collection was unveiled in Paris in October 2025. The first season under new Artistic Director Mathieu Blazy connects the Maison's past and future with the theme of a "dialogue" with founder Gabrielle Chanel. Titled "UNE CONVERSATION," it is a poetic and intimate collection that transcends time and space, discussing love and freedom.

A fusion of menswear tradition and femininity - “UN PARADOXE”
The show began with the very origins of menswear: a shirt and trousers. A shirt that Gabrielle Chanel borrowed from the wardrobe of her beloved, Boy Capel - this item, which continues its lineage, was reconstructed in collaboration with the venerable French brand Charvet.

Blazie layers a raw-edged masculine suit jacket, achieving the supple balance that is so characteristic of CHANEL. The tweed embodies the British spirit, yet is light and worn with purpose. Day and night, reason and passion, femininity and masculinity intertwine, creating a new mood woven with smooth silk and gentle draping. It is the very image of Gabrielle Chanel, who lived her life with equal intensity, both for work and love.

Timeless daywear, “LE JOUR”
In the daywear chapter, classic pieces are reinterpreted in a modern way. Supple tweeds and silk knit suits, bags that retain their worn texture, and camellias speak to the reality of "inherited beauty."

A particularly iconic example is the ever-loved "2.55" handbag. Its burgundy lining exudes an intimacy that only deepens with time. Its graphic black and white lines evoke Art Deco architecture, subtly highlighting the modern DNA that Chanel built.

Universality and freedom, “L’UNIVERSEL”
In the final chapter of the collection, the Maison's timeless values are opened up to the future. Denim-like blousons are transformed into soft shapes, and intricately woven tweeds and sheer plaids are illuminated. The garments are lined with contrasting silk, demonstrating the Maison's research into materials and savoir-faire.

Accessories include overlapping baroque pearls, glass planets and enamel chains, symbolizing the "eternal femininity." Practical heels and two-tone shoes complete the look, leading the wearer effortlessly into the future.

Mathieu Blazy's story is not one woman's story, but the collective memory of the women who have worn CHANEL throughout the ages. Embracing love and freedom, these women return once again to the CHANEL universe.
