Starbucks will be releasing its "SAKURA" series, featuring Japan-exclusive drinks inspired by cherry blossoms in full bloom, including the "Sakura Full Milk Latte" and "Sakura Full Frappuccino®," as well as tumblers and mugs, at Starbucks stores nationwide (some locations excluded) and the Starbucks online store starting February 15th.



Starbucks has been offering a variety of products as part of its "SAKURA" series for the spring season since 2002. This year's SAKURA theme is "SAKURA “Mankai” Moments - Full blooming all around you-," and each product expresses the moment when cherry blossoms are in full bloom, which shows different expressions depending on the location and time of day. Two drinks are available: the "Sakuraful Milk Latte" and the "Sakuraful Frappuccino®." Based on the two popular flavors of cherry blossom and strawberry, these drinks evoke a spring-like taste. They are designed to look like cherry blossom viewing.

The "Sakuraful Milk Latte," inspired by the moment when cherry blossom petals flutter down in the wind, combines cherry blossom and strawberry with milk to create a creamy latte with a spring-like flavor. It is topped with two types of shaved chocolate: a pale pink cherry blossom-flavored chocolate and a dark pink strawberry-flavored chocolate, which overlap to represent the petals of cherry blossoms in full bloom. The "Sakuraful Frappuccino®" is inspired by cherry blossoms in full bloom reflected on water. The drink's base is a Sakura Strawberry-flavored sauce, representing a row of cherry blossom trees and the varying shades of pink. Two types of transparent jelly, strawberry and Sakura Milk, are added to create the illusion of these shades being reflected on the water's surface. The jiggly texture of the jelly when sipped through a straw makes this Frappuccino® a delight. The cup in which the drink is served also features a design of cherry blossoms in full bloom along the Meguro River, one of Japan's most popular cherry blossom viewing spots. Available at Starbucks stores nationwide (excluding some locations), the Sakura Full Milk Latte is priced at ¥440 for a short, ¥480 for a tall, ¥520 for a grande, and ¥560 for a venti. This year's SAKURA series, featuring tumblers, mugs, and other merchandise, also captures the various expressions of cherry blossoms in full bloom, expressing their ever-changing beauty through the themes of "dignified" and "positive." The first wave, launching on February 15th, will feature a "dignified" theme, depicting "cherry blossoms standing pure in the clear light of early morning." The second wave, launching on February 25th, will feature a "positive" theme, depicting "cherry blossoms showing adorable smiles in the warm afternoon sun."
