The 14th Aoyama Bread Festival, "Artisan Bakeries - Bakers as Artists of Expression," will be held over two days, October 13th and 14th, in the plaza in front of the United Nations University in Aoyama, Tokyo.

Why does the taste of bread vary depending on the baker, even when made with the same ingredients and recipe? At this event, you can get a sense of what each baker is trying to express as an artist and what they want to express through the art of bread.
This time, bakers from all over Japan will select a unique "Signature Bread," which embodies their own "feelings" and "expression," and each bakery will sell its own booth. The venue will also feature a special "Signature Bread" corner where you can taste and compare six types of bread of your choice. Tasting tickets (900 yen) will be sold at the reception on the day and will end once sold out. You can also check out the story behind the "Signature Bread" in advance on the official Instagram (@aoyama_pan_matsuri).
Minomori Wood-Fired Kiln Factory's Mobile Bread Oven
Original sandwiches will also be available, including Bistro Rogiura's "Anko Butter Ricotta Cheese Sandwich" and the "Aoyama Bread Festival Special Omelet Sandwich," which features an omelet made with free-range eggs from Zao Seori Farm, a popular item at the Aoyama Farmers Market, sandwiched between bread from Shigekuniya 55 Bakery in Koenji.
In addition, the venue will feature spaces and workshops offering unique experiences. The event will feature a portable bread oven from Mimori Wood-Fired Kiln Factory, where you can warm bread and bake dough in a wood-burning oven. A full-scale tent-style sauna imported from Finland will also be on display, allowing people to "ferment not just bread but also people." On October 13th, a special workshop will be held by barista and coffee life planner Asami Ino. From 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, there will be a "Pairing Edition" featuring bread from Yoshida Bakery, and from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, there will be an "Adapted Recipe Edition" featuring bread from Signifiant Signifie. Reservations are accepted on the dedicated page (https://peatix.com/event/438325/view). Other planned events include a talk show on Patagonia's food business, "Provisions," and a discussion on food waste. Discover a new side to bread at this October bread festival.
