"Otsuna" is a specialty store for "tuna (tuna in oil)," a familiar national dish at dinner tables. Otsuna, run by owner Hitoshi Sekine, who has run a small restaurant for many years, is located a five-minute walk from Ikejiri-Ohashi Station.
When you enter the store, you will see an array of "tuna" packed in jars. Using the discerning eye developed while frequenting Tsukiji, the owner carefully selects the finest tuna and oil. Then, after continuing to experiment with different flavors of tuna, the delicious and healthy "tuna" was born.
--There are 10 types of "Tuna"--
 ・Plain
 ・Garlic & Oregano
 ・Dried Tomato & Basil
 ・Perilla & Shiso Miso
 ・Porcini
 ・Organic Whole Grain Mustard
 ・Pukkochu (Korean Green Chili Pepper)
 ・Japanese Pepper
 ・Genovese
 ・Arrabbiata
While sampling the various flavors in the store, owner Sekine carefully explained each one. They were so delicious I wanted to buy them all, and it was hard to choose. After much deliberation, I'll introduce the four flavors I chose.
From left: Plain (1,200 yen), Sansho Mi (1,280 yen), Sundried Tomato & Basil (1,280 yen), Perilla Shiso Miso (1,280 yen)
From left: Plain (1,200 yen), Sansho Mi (1,280 yen), Sundried Tomato & Basil (1,280 yen), Perilla Shiso Miso (1,280 yen)If you want to enjoy the fluffy texture of flaked tuna, we recommend the standard "Plain"! With just the right amount of salt and a refreshing oil, this is a dish that you should definitely eat as is. The "Sansho Mi" has a pleasant aroma and a spicy kick from the sansho pepper, making it the perfect adult "tuna" to go with alcohol. The "Sundried Tomato & Basil" is recommended to be served on a baguette like a caprese, or tossed in pasta. I also dipped bread in the remaining oil and enjoyed it to the last drop. The "Perilla and Shiso Miso" is the only "tuna" with a sweet taste. Enjoy it with hot rice!

Otsuna's "tuna" is bottled, so it doesn't have that canned smell, and the oil is refreshing, giving it a fluffy texture and flavor. The "tuna" I usually dress with mayonnaise has now been elevated to a main dish at the dinner table! It was my first experience of "tuna" that I couldn't stop eating.
"Otsuna" (Otsuna Tuna) is a name that embodies the desire to connect people with "delicious" food. It is the perfect souvenir to take home or as a gift for celebrations. They have a wide selection of gifts, and they also offer the cute "Kashiwa Mizuhiki" (180 yen) from Nagaoka, Niigata Prefecture, and a gift wrapping service.

In addition to online shopping, the website also features recipes created by the store owner, Mr. Sekine. Please enjoy this as well!
