Louis Vuitton will be hosting the "TIME CAPSULE" exhibition on the 9th floor of the Hankyu Umeda Main Store from July 14th to August 1st, tracing the history of the Maison's innovative technology and design. Along with rare and historic products and objects carefully selected from the Louis Vuitton archives, the exhibition will take visitors on a journey from its founding in 1854 to the present.

Louis Vuitton has always offered new styles of travel along with the evolution of transportation. For over 160 years, it has created imaginative and original creations to fulfill the dreams and desires of customers around the world. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the opening of its first store in Japan. This commemorative exhibition, held in this memorable year, will chronologically introduce historical events through four key themes that are crucial to weaving the Louis Vuitton story: "The Key to the Codes," "Journeys around the World," "Elegance in Motion," and "Icons of the House."

In a room themed on the artisans who support the Maison's creations, visitors can experience the handiwork of the atelier's masters, who pursue the ultimate in beauty. They can also get a close-up look at the traditional leatherworking techniques still used today by artisans who came to Japan from France.

Next, in a room themed on the Maison's signatures, the focus is on the trunks that made Louis Vuitton famous. The history of Louis Vuitton is unraveled through its now-iconic icons, such as carefully selected high-quality leathers, meticulously designed locks and other components, Damier canvas, and Monogram canvas.

In addition, there will be an exhibition of carefully selected objects that celebrate the relationship between the Maison and Japan from the past to the present. This time, a kimono case designed by the late Ichikawa Danjuro and commissioned for Ichikawa Ebizo (with the items stored inside also being his personal belongings) will also be on special display.
