Hirohiko Araki Talks "Bijinga" and "New Challenges"
In an interview video aired at the preview, Araki spoke about his work on bijinga, saying, "Illustrations are great. They bring out tradition, and you can imagine the atmosphere of the time, the enjoyment of an evening or a summer afternoon." He also spoke about trying new materials, saying, "Printing pictures on a new material, like aluminum cans, was a fresh experience for me when I tried Yebisu Beer. In the future, I'd like to try drawing on materials other than paper, like comics or weekly magazines. I'd like to try drawing on new materials, like large pictures."
