On the 7th, Kintetsu Department Store launched "Vegista Island," a dietary education content site for PCs and smartphones (Android, iOS) that mainly features the online game "Vegi Koro." It's free to use. Linking the content to Kintetsu's website aims to attract customers to the Kintetsu Internet Shop from around the country and raise awareness of the "Abeno Harukas Kintetsu Main Store." The content allows parents and children to learn about food knowledge and customs together through games and other means. The main content, the sugoroku game "Vegi Koro," starts from Tokyo. The goal location and local specialty dish are automatically determined, so players roll the dice to move through the region, collecting local ingredients in each area as they head for the goal. Other content will also be introduced, allowing children and adults to learn about food together. These include "Vegi Q," a quiz featuring cute characters like the tomato-themed "Lycopene" about local ingredients from around Japan, and "Vegista TV," featuring the Vegista story and theme song. The development of this food education game is part of a variety of food education projects being developed by Kintetsu Department Store in collaboration with the "Vegista" food education project. To coincide with the opening of "Vegista Island," Kintetsu Department Store conducted a survey of 600 mothers in their 20s to 40s with children under the age of 10. The results revealed that while 90% of mothers recognize the importance of food education, 60% are not actually putting it into practice. The main reason for this was a lack of knowledge on the part of mothers. A key feature of "Vegista Island" is that it allows both children and adults to learn about food in a fun way. It can also be easily used as a parent-child communication tool.
