Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary since its opening, will be holding the Yokohama Strawberry Festival 2018 in its event plaza for 11 days from February 2nd to 12th, 2018.
Kaju Kobo Karin "Plump Strawberry Juice" (500 yen, tax included)
A special tent set up inside the venue will host a "Strawberry Market" featuring everything strawberry-themed, from food to miscellaneous goods. A record 20 vendors will be participating, including two first-time vendors, Gateau Yokohama and Kaju Kobo Karin. Each vendor will offer exclusive strawberry sweets and other unique creations. Inside the tent, strawberries picked fresh every morning by strawberry farmers in Yokohama will be sold directly to the public, and the sweet smell of strawberries will fill the tent throughout the event.
The free strawberry sampling, which is popular every year, will feature four varieties on a rotating daily basis: Chiba Prefecture's new variety "Chiba Berry," which debuted in 2017; Tochigi Prefecture's "Tochiotome" and "Skyberry," the strawberry kingdom; and Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture's original variety "Fukuharuka."
"Skyberry" from Tochigi Prefecture
"Chiba Berry" sampling days are February 2nd, 7th, and 9th, with a limit of one per person per day for the first 100 people.
